Welcome
The Louisiana State Board of Electrolysis Examiners was created in 1979 (LSA-R.S. 37:3061) in order to oversee the training and maintenance of professional and ethical standards of electrologists in Louisiana. The board is responsible for examining and licensing applicants, accrediting electrolysis schools, and inspecting practitioners' offices for sanitary practices. Five members are appointed by and serve at pleasure of the governor. Four are licensed
electrologists who have been in the practice of electrology for at least
5 years prior to appointment. Two appointees are members of the Louisiana Electrologist Association (LEA); and two appointees are members of the Regional Electrologists Association of Louisiana (REAL). One state-licensed physician member is also recommended by the Louisiana State Medical Society.
