Welcome to the State Board of Electrolysis Examiners! The Louisiana State Board of Electrolysis Examiners regulates, controls and monitors members of the electrology industry to maintain public health and welfare standards for the consumer public. We over see the following:
Licensing Electrolysis schools and apprentice programs.
Electrologist licenses meet the educational requirements established by the State of Louisiana.
Licensed professionals maintain the highest standards while providing services to the public.
The Louisiana State Board of Electrolysis Examiners was created in 1979
Five members are appointed by and serve at pleasure of the governor. Four are Licensed electrologists who have been in the practice of electrology for at least 5 years prior to appointment. Two appointees are members of the Louisiana Electrologist Association (LEA); and two appointees are members of the Regional Electrologists Association of Louisiana (REAL). One state-licensed physician member is also
recommended by the Louisiana State Medical Society.
